As a consultant at the department of ophthalmology of the Clinic Landstraße Vienna (formerly named Rudolf Foundation Hospital), I see outpatients with retinal and choroidal diseases and conduct eye surgery (cataract). My scientific activities as a researcher and part of the team of the Karl Landsteiner Institute for Retinal Research and Imaging focus on the sub-divisions of retinology and biometry.

Choosing a private doctor offers you many advantages: the ability to secure an appointment at short notice and with limited waiting times, full accessibility and a relaxed environment with state-of-the-art equipment. I will take sufficient time for your visit, including a confidential discussion, a thorough examination, a precise diagnosis and an individual treatment plan. Should you require an operation, I can walk you through the details and personally treat you in the hospital. The sensitive patient-doctor relationship is particularly important to me.
As a private doctor I am not contractually bound to your social security partner. Any services provided will be charged directly to you via invoice. You may be partially reimbursed by submitting this to your insurance company. A private insurance plan may cover your costs in full, depending on the type of coverage.

Please note, I do not currently treat children or offer contact lens fittings.
Warning: It is usually necessary to dilate the pupils with eye drops. The effects of the drops may last some time. You are not permitted to drive a vehicle during this time.
Practice
My practice is in the MedBase19-Augenzentrum, centrally located within the 19th district. It is accessible both by car and public transport. The U4 / U6 underground stations as well as the tram stop D Spittelau are in the immediate vicinity.
